UAE, August 11, 2026:
The Ministry of Sports organised the first Innovation Lab to discuss mechanisms for developing the Ministry’s services in the coming period, to design a comprehensive roadmap for the Ministry’s sports services. The initiative aligns with the UAE Code for Government Services and the Zero Bureaucracy Programme to enhance service quality and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
The lab convened employees responsible for developing the Ministry’s services. The sessions explored key areas, including an overview of the UAE Code for Government Services, a comprehensive review of the Ministry’s core, support and complementary services, and the strategic priorities driving service transformation. Participants further examined recent developments, including updates to regulatory frameworks and the integration of agentic AI applications into government services.
Regarding the importance of the lab, Humaid Al-Muhairi, Director of the Strategy and Future Department at the Ministry of Sports, stated: “The lab represents an important step in the Ministry’s service development journey, by transitioning toward the design of more flexible, integrated, and proactive services in line with the principles of the UAE Government Services Code. We aim to fundamentally transform services and leverage data and the latest technologies to deliver advanced services that meet customer needs and support the objectives of the Zero Bureaucracy Programme”.
For his part, Mohammed Amer, Head of the Government Services Office at the Ministry of Sports, emphasized that the lab aims to strengthen the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to transform its government services in accordance with best practices. He noted that such initiatives focus on delivering proactive, integrated, and customer-centric services, leveraging innovation, advanced technologies, and agentic AI to enhance customer experiences by simplifying procedures and improving the efficiency and quality of the Ministry's government services.
The lab focused on identifying priority areas for service enhancement in line with the core principles of the UAE Code for Government Services. Participants also discussed key performance indicators, reviewed transformational and strategic initiatives supporting service development, and examined the policies required to achieve the Ministry’s objectives.
The initiative reflects the Ministry of Sports’ constant commitment to embedding innovation in government service development through future-focused and digitally enabled approaches that simplify processes. It also supports the Zero Bureaucracy Programme and its efforts to elevate customer experiences, while advancing the goals of the 'We the UAE 2031' vision to position the UAE as the world’s leading and most distinguished nation through agile and proactive government services that meet the evolving needs of the sports sector and contribute to its long-term development.
