Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University Advances Educational and Research Innovation in Support of Dubai’s Longevity Vision

July 21, 2026: In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai as a global leader in longevity and quality of life, and in support of the strategic objectives underpinning the establishment of the Dubai Longevity Authority, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) discussed opportunities to contribute to this future-focused agenda through smart learning, research, and innovation during a meeting between H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, and Dr. Ludmila Vassilieva, Founder and Medical Director of Holistic Healing Medical Centre.
The meeting explored ways to leverage smart learning, scientific research, and artificial intelligence to support Dubai’s emerging longevity ecosystem, while examining opportunities to develop specialised educational programmes and research initiatives in partnership with private-sector organisations. These efforts aim to build future-ready talent, advance knowledge, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and practical experience in areas related to quality of life, preventive health, and community wellbeing.
H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar emphasised that the establishment of the Dubai Longevity Authority represents a strategic milestone that reflects Dubai’s forward-looking vision for enhancing quality of life and developing an integrated ecosystem centred on people and wellbeing.
His Excellency added: “Longevity represents one of the most promising emerging fields, bringing together knowledge, technology, and innovation to create meaningful impact on individuals and communities. It opens new opportunities for academic institutions to contribute to talent development, knowledge creation, and the advancement of solutions that enhance quality of life. At HBMSU, we are committed to leveraging smart learning, scientific research, and artificial intelligence, while strengthening strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders, to support national priorities and help shape sustainable, future-focused outcomes for society.”
Dr. Ludmila Vassilieva shared international perspectives and leading practices related to longevity and wellbeing, highlighting the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and specialised practitioners in advancing knowledge and supporting innovation in this rapidly evolving field.
Both parties agreed to continue coordination and explore potential areas of collaboration that align with the University’s strategic priorities and support Dubai’s future vision.
