MAJRA discusses with Ministry of Community Development implementation of developmental projects and initiatives in UAE
• The meeting evaluated key issues and challenges in communities and ways to foster joint national actions to find right solutions in collaboration with the private sector.
• It also underscored the significance of updating strategies that support society members and address their needs.
Dubai, November 20, 2024: The National CSR Fund - MAJRA conducted a meeting with the Ministry of Community Development and its affiliated centres in the UAE in the presence of Sarah Shaw, Director of MAJRA, and representatives from the Ministry to review the implementation of new developmental initiatives and projects in the country in line with national objectives, ESG domains and sustainable development goals. Furthermore, the meeting assessed major challenges confronted by individuals and families living in villages and remote areas, as well as discussed ways to foster joint national action to find the right solutions in partnership with the private sector as part of their community contributions and the UAE CSR ecosystem.
Furthermore, both entities explored key avenues such as women’s role and initiatives to empower them and support their growth in society, while shedding light on the wide array of services offered by the Ministry of Community
Development to productive families, owners of microenterprises, and other groups. During the meeting, both parties also discussed various measures and strategies needed to support collaborations of public interest and empower families in the country.
Shaw said: “The meeting offered a significant opportunity to understand pressing social issues, create appropriate strategies for implementation of developmental projects and launch new community initiatives to meet the demands of different societal segments. Such sessions are in line with our goal of strengthening cooperation and communication among all stakeholders to build community responsibility, which will help the society, its individuals, and institutions while also contributing to the achievement of sustainable development.”
During the meeting, the Ministry of Community Development reiterated its commitment to offering a range of unique services aimed at all society members, such as senior citizens and people of determination. Such services cover social subsidy, productive families, mass weddings and marriage certificates, as well as other personal requirements. Additionally, the Ministry discussed its community programs and activities that are designed to improve the quality of life and participation of people in the society, encourage positive citizenship, cultivate a culture of volunteering and giving, and encourage community members to engage in development-related fields.
Attending parties further emphasised the significance of updating strategies, implementing development projects and initiatives that support all society members, and meet their requirements and needs. They also highlighted the importance of organising awareness-raising campaigns and providing social services to support senior citizens and people of determination in the UAE to further increase their participation and contributions to society and provide them with necessary requirements. They further underscored the significance of implementing strategies to support families and communities in rural regions while addressing social challenges to boost community development efforts and encourage community responsibility and sustainable development.
